Ancient maps are appreciated more and more. Maps visualise our passion for nostalgia and curiosity to the world and life in early years. The struggle against the sea in the Netherlands changed the way the map looks now a days. The names of many neighbbourhoods, streets and industrial areas have their origin in former landhouses, creeks and estates.
There are maps of different countries, provinces, waterships and cities. A
lot of cartographers and publishers were active such as Blaeu,
Visscher, Hondius, Ortelius en Mercator intrigue many.
Maps from the 16th until the 19th century are still to be found and for
sale and appeared to be a stable price investment throughout the years.
